Pigeons are a symbol of strength and flexibility. Their presence serves as our guide in overcoming the most difficult of odds, providing clout to survive even in foreign terrains and at times, even in the harshest of conditions."
​​​Hi, I'm Anthony, an artist from Schenectady, NY and founder of American Pigeon.
American Pigeon began as a way for me to combine my love of history and art. I was working on digitally restoring old images and maps I had downloaded from the Library Of Congress and wanted to find a way to share them with friends and family. I decided to make some pocket size notebooks featuring the images I had been restoring on the covers. I handed some out and couldn't believe the response! People kept coming back for more, so I decided to try listing some on Etsy to see how they did. American Pigeon officially took flight!

I worked on American Pigeon at night and on weekends while working a 9-5 in IT. In the beginning of 2021 my position was eliminated, and for the first time in 20 years I found myself without a job. If the pandemic had taught me anything, it's that tomorrow isn't guaranteed, and so I decided to take a chance and fulfill a life long dream of running my own business that combined my love of art and crafting things by hand.
